High school boys basketball: Bossier, Parkway, Benton notch district wins

The Bossier Bearkats, Parkway Panthers and  Benton Tigers won district games Wednesday night.

Bossier defeated Southwood 54-29 in a District 1-4A game at Southwood. The Bearkats improved to 15-6 overall and 3-0 in district with their fifth straight victory.

In District 1-5A games, Parkway defeated Haughton 63-44 at Parkway and Benton downed Byrd 43-32 at Benton.

In the other 1-5A games, Airline fell to Huntington 69-53 at Airline and Natchitoches Central defeated Evangel Christian 69-43.

Natchitoches Central (20-2, 5-0) and Huntington (15-6, 4-0) remained undefeated in district.

In a District 1-1A game, Plain Dealing fell to Glenbrook 67-29 at Glenbrook.

In a non-district game, Providence Classical Academy lost to Pleasant Hill 58-43 at PCA.

At Southwood, Ron Dillard led eight Bossier players who scored with 12 points. Ethan Dodson added 10. JD Davis and Braylon Robinson scored eight each.

The Bearkats led 15-0 after the first quarter and 32-11 at the half.

Southwood dropped to 7-9 and 1-1.

Bossier visits Minden Friday in a key district game.

At Parkway, Kaleb Williams and Antonio Gladney led Parkway (10-9, 2-2) with 19 and 18 points, respectively. Tristan Sedberry added 10.

Hunter Lippolis hit four 3-pointers and led Haughton (9-11, 0-3) with 15 points. D’Merrion Gladney also made four 3s and scored 14.

Parkway hosts Airline Friday. Haughton hosts Benton.

At Airline, the Vikings stayed with the Raiders in the first half and trailed just 26-23.

But Huntington hit four 3-pointers in the third quarter and outscored Airline 24-10.

Kevin White led the Vikings (12-11, 3-2) with 24 points. Eli Washington added 19.

Peyton Parker paced Huntington with 24 points. Antonio Williams added 15.

At Benton, the Tigers improved to 10-11 overall and 1-3 in district. Byrd dropped to 9-14 and 1-4.

At PCA, the Knights fell to 10-14. Pleasant Hill improved to 24-5.
