High school boys basketball: Four parish teams begin playoffs Friday; Bossier, Parkway at home

Four parish teams play first-round games Friday.

Bossier (18-11), the No. 6 seed, hosts No. 27 St. Martinville (15-18) in a non-select Division II game at 6:30 p.m.

In non-select Division I, No. 15 Parkway (19-11) hosts No. 18 Fontainebleau (18-11) at 6, No. 24 Haughton (17-12) visits No. 9 Ouachita Parish at 6:30 and No. 28 Airline (11-20) visits No. 5 Northshore (22-5) at 6.

District 1-4A champion Bossier reached the quarterfinals last year, falling to No. 3 seed Carroll 53-43. St. Martinville, which lost in the first round last year, shared the District 5-3A championship with Abbeville.

District 1-5A runner-up Parkway lost to Walker 65-42 in the first round last year. Fontainebleau, which finished second in District 7-5A, fell to eventual runner-up Natchitoches Central 49-47 in the first round. 

Haughton is in the playoffs for the first time since 2010 in Class 4A. Ouachita Parish, which finished third in District 2-5A, lost to Slidell 77-50 in the first round last year.

Airline fell to East St. John 71-68 in overtime in the first round last year. Northshore, which won District 7-5A, did not make the playoffs last year.
