High school boys basketball: Parkway completes 3-0 run in tournament with victory over Woodlawn

The Parkway Panthers completed a 3-0 run in the Barksdale Federal Credit Union Parkway Invitational Basketball Showcase with an 81-68 victory over the  Woodlawn Knights Saturday night at Parkway.

Caleb Evans and Antonio Gladney led the Panthers (6-5) with 24 and 20 points, respectively.

Jacob Gaskins added 14.

The Panthers started red hot, taking a 28-12 lead after the first quarter. Gladney scored 12 in the quarter. Kaleb Williams and Tristan Sedberry hit 3-pointers.

Both teams fared well offensively in the second. Parkway hit four 3-pointers. Payton Rayner made two while Williams and Evans sank one each. Evans scored seven in the quarter.

Parkway led 47-30 at the half. The Panthers cooled off in the third but still led 58-45 going into the fourth.

Evans scored 12 in the fourth. He knocked down a 3-pointer and was 8-of-9 from the free throw line.

Woodlawn hit 13 3-pointers. 

Bossier fell to Idabel, Okla., 63-42 in the final game of the tournament. Lajerrion Benjamin and Justin Slaid led the Bearkats (3-4) with 10 and nine points, respectively.

Bossier hosts Captain Shreve Friday.
