High school boys basketball: Semifinals set in Parkway tournament; Bossier wins

The semifinals are set in the Barksdale Federal Credit Union Parkway Tournament.

Parkway (5-1), which rolled past Class 1A Ringgold 75-39 Thursday night, faces Calvary Baptist (2-2) in the nightcap Friday at 8:30. Undefeated Woodlawn (10-0), which defeated Airline 81-65 Thursday afternoon, plays Rayville (5-1) at 7. Rayville routed Evangel Christian 94-58 Thursday.

In consolation games, Haughton faces Ringgold at 4 and Benton plays Southwood at 5:30.

Terrace Marshall Jr. led 13 Parkway players who scored against Ringgold with 13 points. The Panthers raced to a 21-5 lead in the first quarter and extended it to 38-10 at the half.

KJ Bilbo led Airline (6-3) against Woodlawn with 16 points. Trent Ivy added 11 and Trace Parker nine.

Woodlawn’s Telvin Thomas scored 24 points, including six 3-pointers. Tra’michael Moton sank three 3s and scored 17. Jalen Brooks also had 17. Devonte Brooks added 16.

Thomas and Moton hit two 3-pointers each in the first quarter to help the Knights build a 23-14 lead.

The Vikings got back in it in the second quarter, outscoring Woodlawn 18-11. Fred Lemons scored six points in the period and Airline trailed just 34-32 at the half.

Woodlawn blew the game open in the third quarter, hitting four 3s and outscoring the Vikings 26-14.

Elsewhere, Bossier opened play in the Longview Chapter Chick-fil-A tournament with an 61-51 victory over Henderson, Texas. The Bearkats sank eight 3-pointers.

Tyrese English led Bossier (7-3) with 18 points, including three 3s. Tybo Wimberly hit four 3s and scored 16. Jacoby Decker and Abarreion Johnson scored 10 each.

The game was tied at 17 after the first quarter, but Bossier took control in the second and led 27-19 at the half.
