The Benton Tigers finished runner-up in the Pineville Rebel Cup soccer tournament.
The Tigers went 2-1-1 in the two-day event which concluded Saturday.
Benton defeated Hahnville 3-0 and Pineville 2-0 and tied Beau Chene 1-1 to finish first in its bracket. The Tigers lost to Mandeville 4-0 in the finals.
Carter Parks scored two goals against Hahnville. Jacob Garrett had one goal and one assist. Max Kenyan also had an assist.

In addition to Parks and Garrett, Benton coach Bryan George said the Tigers defense was outstanding. It was led by captain Jay Sutton, Anthony Garcia, Isaac Ford and Zach Haegele.
“Keeper Ian McEntee had a stellar performance in the net and Sean Loftin and Max Kenyan set the pace in the midfield,” George said.
George also said the play of left wing Reece Brooks was another key to the team’s success.
The tournament included 40 boys and girls teams. Benton also finished second in the girls division.
The Benton boys host Neville Tuesday night at Tinsley Park.
