High school cross country: Airline boys achieve perfect score in Airline Festival meet; Parkway girls finish 1-2 in Miss. meet


The Airline boys were perfect in the Airline Cross Country Festival on Saturday in Plain Dealing.

Airline runners finished first through fifth led by winner Taejon Morris, who covered the 5K course in 16 minutes, 40 seconds.

The Vikings scored 15 points. West Monroe was second with 67.

Josh Burns was second in 16:43, Goffrey Cole third in 16:50, Collin Morgan fourth in 17:34 and Gabe Cole fifth in 17:45.

Isaac Moore finished eighth in 18:18.

Airline’s Kaylen Harris won the individual girls title in 21:44.

Elsewhere, Parkway’s Joslyn Crosby and Jazz Rasouliyan finished 1-2 in the Clinton Arrow Invitational girls division in Clinton, Miss.

Crosby covered the 5K course in 20:13.6. Rasouliyan ran a 20:41.62.

They led the Lady Panthers to a third-place finish. Parkway scored 106 points. Brookhaven, Miss., won with 45.

Other Lady Panthers in the scoring were Victoria Morris, Lauren Sepeda and Malia Morton.

Benton swept the boys and girls titles in a meet at Advance Country Club in Jonesboro.

Haughton’s Killian Hillinger finished 37th out of 788 runners in the Chile Pepper Festival high school open boys division in Fayetteville, Ark.

The Bucs finished 35th out of 66 teams.

Bossier City’s Will Dart, a former Airline star, finished runner-up in the boys mixed open division 5K, running a 16:24.7.
