High school cross country: Airline boys win Ruston meet; Parkway’s Crosby, Rasouliyan finish 1-2 in Miss. meet

The Airline boys and Parkway girls continued their cross country success Saturday.

Airline won the Ruston Invitational, placing five runners in the top 11. The Vikings scored 30 points to 55 for runner-up Ruston.

Parkway’s Joslyn Crosby and Jazz Rasouliyan finished 1-2 in the Madison (Mississippi) Cross Country Festival. Crosby covered the 5K course at Madison Middle School in 20 minutes, 17.69 seconds. Rasouliyan ran a personal-best 20:22.32.

The girls division featured 149 competitors.

Parkway finished third out of 14 teams with 110 points. Brookhaven, Miss., won with 42.

Airline’s Taejon Morris and Joshua Burns finished second and third, respectively, in Ruston. Morris ran a 15:47 and Burns a 15:53.

Goffery Cole was fifth in 16:01. Collin Morgan finished ninth in 16:34 and Gabe Cole 11th in 16:48.

Isaac Moore was 22nd in 17:39 and Ty Castro 37th in 18:37.

Airline’s Kaylen Harris placed third in the girls division in 20:30. Hannah Evans was 19th in 23:21.

Other Parkway runners in the scoring in Madison were Victoria Morris (23rd, 22:41.63), Lauren Sepeda (46th, 24:21.58) and Kendall Roshto (48th, 24:25.01).

The District 1-5A meet is Oct. 25 at South Bossier Park. The Class 4A and 5A state meets are Nov. 13 at Northwestern State.
