High school cross country: Parkway boys win Border Dash

Parkway won the boys division in the Louisiana Border Dash cross country meet Saturday at South Bossier Park.
The high school divisions featured 35 boys and girls teams and almost 400 runners.
There was also a middle school event.
Six Parkway runners placed in the top 10 in the boys division.
The Panthers scored 30 points to 81 for runner-up Cedar Creek. Clinton, Miss., was third with 125 and Ruston fourth with 129.
Cole Billiot led the Panthers with a fourth-place finish, covering the 3-mile course in 16 minutes, 37.3 seconds.
Andrew Robinson was fifth in 16:46.0, Austin Jacobsen sixth in 16:51, Andrew Waxham eighth in 16:58.3, Clayton Wood ninth in 16:59.9 and Tyler Kruithof 10th in 17:04.6.
Cedar Creek’s Gabe Poulin won in 15:50.1 Byrd runners Allen England and Austin Midovich finished 2-3 in 16:10.4 and 16:16.5, respectively.
The Parkway boys, 5A state runners-up last season, are off to a strong start. The Panthers finished second in the SFA Lumberjack Invitational on Sept. 2 in Nacogodoches, Texas. Billiot was the individual winner.
Parkway’s Jazz Rasouliyan finished third in the girls division in 20:35.1.
Mikayla Ruhl and Jessi Rulh of New Orleans Newman finished 1-2 in 19:45.3 and 20:25.8, respectively.
Haughton’s Madison Reichard was 13th in 22:28.1.
Newman won the team competition with 86 points. Clinton was second with 94 and Ruston third with 102.
Parkway finished sixth with 179 and Haughton 10th with 248.
Haughton’s Jianna Stewartburgess won the girls middle school 2-mile run in 15:49.9.
Stewartburgess’ teammate, Lowrey Lain, finished fourth in 17:05.3.
Haughton took second in the team competition with 59 points, just four behind winner Caddo Middle Magnet.
Cope finished fourth with 109. Benton was sixth with 138, Elm Grove seventh with 166 and Rusheon ninth with 247.
Elm Grove’s Chloe Larry finished 15th in 18:14.7.
Cope’s Ke’Oshanay Hampton was 17th in 18:27.5, Benton’s Kenlee Perkins 18th in 18:28.7, Haughton’s Reagan Hodge 19th in 18:37.4 and Cope’s Kenzie Ross 20th in 18:47.3.
Other members of Haughton’s runner-up team in the scoring were Kaylee Ogletree (22nd) and Abbie Hooper (28th).
Benton’s Logan Dellenbach finished runner-up in the boys division in 14:27.6. Caddo Middle Magnet’s Evan Johnson won in 14:03.1.
Other parish runners in the top 20 were Benton’s Jeffery King (12th, 15:30.7), Greenacres’ Colby O’Glee (13th, 15:33.6), Rusheon’s Caden Miser (14th, 15:34.8), Elm Grove’s Gabe Falting (16th, 15:47.7), Benton’s Jack Johnson (17th, 15:48.6) and Benton’s Mason Haley (19th, 15:50.8).
Benton finished second in the team competition with 76 points. Caddo Middle Magnet won with 53.
Cope finished eighth with 193, Greenaces ninth with 202 and Haughton 10th with 215.
