Parkway and Airline won boys varsity cross country meets Saturday.
Parkway captured the Clinton Arrow Cross Country Invitational in Clinton, Miss. Airline won the Airline Cross Country Festival in Plain Dealing.
Parkway scored 50 points, edging Pearl, the top-ranked team in Mississippi, by four points.
Parkway’s Cole Billiot continued his outstanding junior season with a third-place finish. He covered the 5K course in 16:42.04. Luke Spradling of Starkville (Mississippi) won in 16:23.33. Parkway’s Cameron Rogers was eighth in 17:00.47.
The boys varsity division featured 27 teams and 304 runners.
Other Panthers in the scoring were Christian Nevins (12th, 17:22.48), Tyler Kruifhof (15th, 17:36.43) and David Morgan (16th, 17:41.44). Andrew Robinson was 17th in 17:42.28 and Brencen Delacruz 22nd n 17:56.78.
Kruithof, Morgan and Robinson finished just ahead of Pearl’s fourth and fifth scorers.
Parkway finished third in the varsity girls division with 66 points. Pearl won with 39 and Starkville was runner-up with 57.
Parkway junior Adrianna Wilder finished third, covering the 5K course in 20:42.18. Starkville’s Kate Mattox won in 19:00.16. Parkway’s Lindsey Hutcheson was sixth in 20:56.69.
Other Lady Panthers in the scoring were Carly Hanson (15th, 22:07.50), Victoria Morris (24th, 23:10.89) and Keely Reed (25th, 23:14.55). Ariel McGaffey was 26th in 23:17.44.
There were 21 teams and 228 runners in the girls division.
Airline scored 43 points in the boys division in Plain Dealing. Ruston was second with 95 and Cedar Creek third with 108. Benton was sixth with 163.
Freshman Will Dart led the Vikings with a fourth-place finish, covering the 5K course in 17:10. Lakeside’s Cody Robinson won in 16:25 and Cedar Creek’s Gabe Poulin was runner-up in 16:47.
Airline placed three other runners in the top 10 — Taejon Morris (seventh, 17:46; Joshua Burns (eighth, 18:01) and Nate Godeaux (10th, 18:10). Xavier Wilson, the final Viking in the scoring, was 14th in 18:33.
Benton’s Chandler Burns finished 16th in 18:39, Bossier’s Kaalas Roots 19th in 18:47 and Benton’s Dylan Scott 20th in 18:49.
Thirteen teams and 127 runners competed.
Airine finished third in the girls division, just two points behind runner-up St. Frederick. Ruston won with 86.
Anneliese Jones led Airline with an eighth-place finish in 22:38. Lakeside’s Alissa Landers won in 19:36. Oneke Gwan of Ruston was third in 22:17.
Other Lady Vikings in the scoring were Bethanie Dunn (12th, 23:14), Kimi Yarrington (23rd, 24:23), Riley Lear (24th, 24:31) and Hailey Wainwright (27th, 24:51).
Haughton’s Hannah Robinson was 15th in 23:46.
Eleven teams and 92 runners competed.
Benton won the girls middle school division and the boys finished runner-up.
