High school football: Benton, Haughton, Parkway post wins in Freshman Jamboree

The Benton Tigers, Haughton Bucs and Parkway Panthers posted victories in the Freshman Jamboree on Thursday at Bossier’s Memorial Stadium.
Benton defeated North DeSoto 8-0, Parkway downed Airline 12-6 and Haughton knocked off Bossier 19-7.
Benton recorded a safety in the first half against North DeSoto. The Tigers scored on a 2-yard run by Jastin Johnson
with 35 seconds left in the second. Cason Tackett had a key block on the play.
In the second contest, Parkway’s Gabriel Larry scored on a 12-yard run in the first half. Larry tossed a 22-yard touchdown pass to Quincy Jones to give the Panthers a 12-0 lead with 3:27 left in the second.
Airline’s Jaquarius Rabon returned the ensuing kickoff 70 yards for a TD.
In the third game, Haughton quarterback Peyton Stovall passed 55 yards to Carter Griffin for a touchdown. He also ran 18 yards for a score with 40 seconds left in the half.
Bossier’s Dextrell Parks took the ensuing kickoff and raced 70 yards for a TD.
Stovall added another touchdown run in the second half for the final margin.
In freshman and JV games Tuesday, Haughton visits Benton, Airline is at Byrd, Parkway hosts Captain Shreve and Bossier visits North Caddo.
