High school football: Bossier, Plain Dealing fall in district contests

The Bossier Bearkats and the Plain Dealing Lions lost district games Friday night.

Bossier fell to Minden 36-14 in a District 1-4A game in Minden. Plain Dealing lost to Lincoln Prep 60-25 in a District 1-1A game in Plain Dealing.

Bossier (2-7, 0-6) lost its seventh straight game. Minden (5-4, 3-3) snapped a three-game losing streak.

Plain Dealing (3-6, 1-4) lost its fifth straight. Lincoln Prep improved to 4-5 and 3-2.

Bossier had a tough time containing Minden running back Decoriun
Brim. He scored touchdowns on runs of 51, 7 and 72 yards.

The Crimson Tide jumped out to a 13-0 lead, but the Bearkats cut the deficit to six on Decamerion Richardson’s 6-yard run early in the second quarter.

Brim’s 7-yard TD run gave Minden a 20-7 halftime lead. The Tide extended the lead to 26-7 on Patrick Heard’s 6-yard run early in the third quarter.

But James Davis returned the kickoff 74 yards for a touchdown to keep Bossier within striking distance.

The Bearkats managed to score only a safety the rest of the way.

Reginald Burns led Bossier on the ground with 39 yards.

Isaiah Blair-Wallace completed seven of 13 passes for 60 yards. Quinton Smith had six catches for 54 yards.

Minden finished with 400 total yards. Brim had 147 yards rushing on just six carries.

Plain Dealing went into its game against Lincoln Prep No. 17 in the Class 1A power rankings. The Lions close the regular season at home Friday against Homer (2-7, 1-4). The Pelicans lost to Haynesville 36-14 Friday night.
