As expected, four Bossier Parish teams are headed to the state football playoffs.

It was almost five. Airline (3-7) came up .02 of a point short of cracking the top 32 in the Class 5A power rankings thanks to its 35-32 victory over Haughton (8-2) on Friday night.

Pineville (4-6), which lost its final five games, finished No. 32 to get the final spot.

In Class 5A first-round games Friday, No. 13 seed Haughton hosts No. 20 Mandeville Fontainebleau (7-3) and No. 23 Parkway (5-4) travels to Monroe to face No. 10 Ouachita Parish (7-3).

In a Class 4A first-round game, No. 16 Benton (7-3) hosts No. 16 Tioga (7-3) in a rematch of a Week 3 game won by Benton 27-17 in Tioga. The Tigers will take a five-game winning streak into the game.

In Class 1A, No. 22 Plain Dealing (3-7) visits No. 11 Montgomery (6-3).

Last year, Airline made the deepest run of any Bossier Parish team in the playoffs, reaching the Class 5A quarterfinals.

Benton made it to the second round in Class 4A. Haughton and Parkway lost in the first round in 5A. Plain Dealing lost in the first round in 1A.
