High school girls basketball: Airline, PCA post victories

The Airline Lady Vikings and Providence Classical Academy Lady Knights were winners Tuesday night.

Airline defeated Many 47-38 at Many, and PCA defeated Converse 35-31 at PCA at Converse.

Elsewhere, Plain Dealing fell to Summerfield 47-37 at home.

At Many, Ke’Zyriah Sykes and Nia Williams led the Lady Vikings with 19 and 17 points, respectively. Karliyah Woodard added 10.

Kierstyn Williams led Many (10-8) with 20 points.

Airline (13-2) hosts Plain Dealing Tuesday.

At PCA, the Lady Knights improved to 10-1. PCA visits North Webster Thursday.

At Plain Dealing, Jakayla Douglas continued her strong season with 25 points.

Akeira Jones led Summerfield with 17 points. She hit four 3-pointers and scored 15 points in the first quarter as the Lady Rebels jumped out to a 25-7 lead.

The Lady Lions (7-8) limited Summerfield (19-3) to just four points in the second quarter and trailed 29-14 at the half. Douglas scored 10 in the third quarter and Plain Dealing got within seven going into the fourth.
