Parkway senior Chloe Larry’s halfcourt buzzer beater has gotten some national recognition.

Larry’s shot gave the Lady Panthers a 64-63 over No. 1 seed Walker Thursday night in the semifinals of the non-select Division I playoffs at the state tournament in Hammond.

She swished it with a couple of defenders on her. The ball went through the net as the horn went off.

Several angles of the shot from the LHSAA Network were shown on the midnight (11 p.m. Central) broadcast of ESPN’s SportsCenter hosted by Scott Van Pelt in Van Pelt’s “The best thing I saw tonight” segment.

ESPN also put it on TikTok and it had more than 400,000 views by early Friday morning.

There was one mistake. Van Pelt referred to Walker as undefeated. The Lady Wildcats actually came into the game 35-1 with a loss to Texas power Duncanville early in the season.

Under LHSAA rules, out-of-state games don’t count toward teams’ power ratings that determine playoff seedings.

Walker was undefeated against Louisiana teams and had won 33 in a row since losing to Duncanville.

Parkway played teams from Arkansas and Texas during the regular season. The Lady Panthers went to a tournament hosted by Duncanville.

They will take a 30-6 record into Saturday’s state championship game against No. 2 seed Denham Springs at Southeastern Louisiana’s University Center.
