High school girls basketball: Haughton bounces back from first loss with victory over Ouachita Parish

The Haughton Lady Bucs bounced back from their first loss with a 48-45 victory over Ouachita Parish in the West Monroe tournament Saturday.

Shaniya Perkins had a huge game with 25 points. She scored 10 in the third quarter as the Lady Bucs extended a 24-22 halftime lead to 39-32.

Bella Hammond scored five of her nine points in the fourth quarter. Skylar Branch added seven points.

Haughton improved to 17-1.

Elsewhere, Parkway closed the Sandra Meadows Classic in Duncanville, Texas, with a 51-39 loss to Summer Creek, Texas.

Dakota Howard provided almost all of the Lady Panthers’ offense with 27 points.

Parkway dropped to 14-4.
