High school girls basketball: Parkway downs Plain Dealing in Lady Kats Invitational


The Parkway Lady Panthers picked up their first win for new head coach Gloria Williams Wednesday, defeating the Plain Dealing Lady Lions 44-23 at Bossier High.

Niaya Fant and Kourtney Landry led Parkway (1-2) with 12 and 11 points, respectively. Laterrica Stewart scored six for Plain Dealing (2-2).

In other games Wednesday, Huntington defeated Richwood 49-43 and West Monroe routed Peabody 59-18.

The Lady Kats Invitational isn’t a bracket tournament. Teams are generally playing three games over four days.
