Former Parkway star Brittney Dukes has been named head girls basketball coach at her alma mater.

Dukes replaces Gloria Williams, who stepped down after leading Parkway to two championships and two runner-up finishes in the last four seasons.

Dukes was a four-year starter at Parkway under Head Coach Aaron Megee.

She played collegiately at Trinity Valley Community College and Southwest Baptist.

She has been a coach at Southwest Baptist, located in Bolivar, Mo., for 10 years. For the last four years, Dukes has been the Associate Head Coach.

“We are excited to have a former Lady Panther lead our team,” Parkway Athletic Director Coy Brotherton said in a press release. “We expect the level of excellence to continue with Coach Dukes at the helm. We can honestly say that she embodies the ‘Loyal Forever’ mentality.”

According to her bio on Southwest Baptist’s website, Dukes graduated from the university with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology.

She played two seasons at Southwest Baptist and was named MIAA All-Conference Honorable Mention in both. She averaged 12.8 points per game.

Dukes earned an Associate of Arts degree in 2011.
