High school girls soccer: Benton, Parkway win district games; Haughton downs Bossier


The Benton Lady Tigers and Parkway Lady Panthers won District 1-II games Tuesday night.

Benton routed Northwood 8-0 at Cargill Park. Parkway also won big at Cargill, defeating Woodlawn 9-0.

In a non-district game, Haughton slipped past Bossier 2-0.

Annalee Ward scored four goals and had one assist in Benton’s victory. Hailey McGhee scored twice. Shayla Lee and Georgia Carroway scored one goal each. Sarah Varnado and Baylee Cortez had one assist each.

It was the district opener for the Lady Tigers, who improved to 9-3-1 overall.

Aubrey Burkhardt scored three goals and Madelyn Elliott had two to lead Parkway (5-4-1, 2-0). Lauren Sepeda scored two goals. Faith Ingles and Morgan McCarty scored one each. Maya Cosic had two assists.

Ciara White and Parker McClung scored one goal each to lift Haughton past Bossier.

The Lady Bucs (7-5) face Benton in a district game at 5:30 p.m. Friday at Tinsley Park.
