The Parkway Lady Panthers won the Bossier Parish Championships meet Thursday at Benton’s Tiger Stadium.
Parkway scored 174 points, edging runner-up Benton by 13. Haughton was third with 129.
Benton junior Jamie Willis continued her outstanding season, winning the 100- and 300-meter hurdles and the long jump.
She ran the 100 in 15.03 seconds and the 300 in 48.01. Haughton freshman Kinsley Brotherton was second in both in 17.28 and 53.43, respectively.
Willis took the long jump with a leap of 16 feet, 8 inches. Airline’s Kyara Fite was second with a 15-6 1/2.
Parkway’s Kyla Williams swept the short sprints, winning the 100 in 12.67 and 200 in 26.91. Williams’ teammate Jillian Walton finished second in the 100 in 12.85. Benton’s Taylor Rochelle was runner-up in the 200 in 28.14.
Benton junior Isabelle Russell continued her dominance in the distance events, winning the 1,600 in 5:32.04 and 3,200 in 12:51.92.
Parkway sophomore Cheyenne Olson had an outstanding meet. She won the 800 in 2:39.00 and finished second in the 1,600 in 6:01.70 and 3,200 in 13:29.67.
Olson’s teammate Laila Brimmer was second in the 800 in 2:45.85.
Benton’s Eryka Pepp took the 400 in 1:03.01. Haughton’s Lauren Tippet finished second in 1:05.49.
Parkway athletes won three of the seven field events.
Jayla James and Amoree Williams finished 1-2 in the shot put with tosses of 34-2 and 33-11, respectively.
Mikaylah Williams won the discus with a throw of 106-10, edging Benton’s Sadie Hamby by 2 feet, 7 inches.
Maya Jackson took the triple jump with a 34-3. Fite was second with a 31-11.
The javelin was one of the best events of the day. Haughton senior Brooklynn Bockhaus won it with a throw of 109-9, edging Larry by just an inch-and-a-half.
Airline’s Arianna Hill won the high jump with a leap of 5-2, four inches higher than Mikaylah Williams.
Airline’s Jessie Frank and Benton’s Kaitlyn Masters both cleared 8-6 in the pole vault. Jessie placed first on fewer misses.
Parkway won the 4X100 and 4X200 relays.
Jackson, Kennedi Lee, Williams and Walton ran a 49.79 in the 4X100 and a 1:47.62 in the 4X200. Airline’s Endia Pradier, Zamiyah Kitchen, Jaycie Wallace and Brianna Taylor finished second in the 4X100 in 51.08. Haughton was second in the 4X200 in 1:49.74. (Team members’ names not available.)
Haughton won the 4X800 relay in 11:32.80. Benton’s Jenevieve Willis, Rylie Emerson, Mary Francis Valentine and Russell took second in 11:58.90.
The Benton foursome of Elizabeth Auttrey, Addyson Hulett, Willis and Pepp won the 4X400 in 4:25.87. Haughton was second in 4:36.93.
Third-place finishers in individual events were Benton’s Havyn Puckett (100, 200), Bossier’s Ka’Mya Smith (400), Haughton’s Katie Villareal (800), Airline’s Kyla Daux (1,600), Parkway’s Ember Pierce (3,200), Bossier’s Evey Bamburg (100 hurdles), Haughton’s Shenae Penn (300 hurdles), Haughton’s Dakota Howard (long jump), Haughton’s Anaya Kennon (shot put), Plain Dealing’s Brianna Newton (discus), Haughton’s Tykiarre Abney (triple jump), Benton’s Hamby (javelin), Haughton’s Aubrey Gray (high jump) and Benton’s Hulett (pole vault).
