The Haughton girls opened the season Thursday night with two dual match victories in a tri-meet at Haughton.

The Bucs defeated Caddo Magnet 42-0 and Byrd by the same score.

This is the first year that girls wrestling is an official LHSAA sport.

Haughton’s winners against Caddo Magnet were Anna Gill (114), Natalie Davis (120), Adelynn Miles (126), Skylah Thomas, Shelby Moore (152), Destiny Lollar (165) and Brooke Caporossi (185).

There were two head-to-head matches. Miles pinned Ruth Dees in 1:31 and Caporossi pinned Kinzy Easter.

The rest of the weight classes were forfeits or double forfeits.

The same Haughton wrestlers won against Byrd. In the only match decided on the mat, Davis pinned Jordan LaBorde in 49 seconds.
