The No. 3 seed Benton Lady Tigers advanced to the Division I quarterfinals with a hard-fought 2-0 victory over the West Monroe Lady Rebels Tuesday night at Airline Stadium.
Benton (20-3-3) will host the winner of Thursday’s second-round match between No. 6 Lafayette (19-3-2) and No. 11 St. Amant (17-5-1).
Eryn Flowers scored both of Benton’s goals. Baleigh Ware and Eden Whiteman had one assist each.
Ava Moore had three saves.
The match was a physical one with a combined 25 fouls called.
The Lady Tigers are in the quarterfinals for the the first time since making it this far in Division II in 2022. This is Benton’s third year in Division I.
The No. 3 seed Bossier Bearkats (16-6-2) will try to reach the Division III boys quarterfinals for the fifth straight year when they take on No. 14 Parkview Baptist (12-6-2) Wednesday at 6 p.m. Memorial Stadium.
