The Bossier Bearkats edged the Airline Vikings 2-1 in the boys division of the Bossier tournament Friday night at Tinsley Park.

Bossier’s Hafid Algahim and Pau Kim scored goals off corner kicks in the first half. The Bearkats (3-3) played a man down in the second half, according to coach Brad Bernard.

Bernard said the the play of Diego Lopez and Sergio Juarez was also a key to the victory.

Gin Pau scored Airline’s goal.

It was a tough day for other Bossier Parish schools in the boys division. Haughton fell to North DeSoto 2-1, Parkway lost to Sulphur 5-0 and Benton dropped a 5-1 decision to Barbe.

In a girls division game, Haughton defeated Southwood 3-1.

The tournament is scheduled to conclude Saturday with games starting at 8 a.m. But rain began moving into the area Friday night and much more is expected Saturday.
