The annual Bossier Futbol Classic begins Thursday with 15 boys and 10 girls teams competing in the varsity division.
All matches will were originally scheduled for Tinsley Park. But because of Wednesday’s heavy rain, Thursday’s varsity matches will be played at Bossier’s Memorial Stadium except for Calvary Baptist vs. Huntington, which will be played at Calvary.
Admission passes are available for one day ($10), two days ($15) and all three days ($25).
Matches begin at 4:30 p.m. Thursday and Friday and 9 a.m. Saturday.
There are also boys and girls junior varsity divisions.
Parish teams competing in the boys and girls varsity divisions are Bossier, Parkway and Haughton. Airline is competing in the boys division only.
Other teams in the boys division are Caddo Magnet, Calvary Baptist, Byrd, D’Arbonne Woods, Evangel Christian, Huntington, Leesville, Minden, Northwood, North DeSoto and Rapides.
Other teams in the girls division are Caddo Magnet, Calvary Baptist, Evangel Christian, Leesville, Minden, North DeSoto and Sam Houston.
The Bossier boys, who lost to champion The Willow School 1-0 in the Division III semifinals last season, are off to a 3-3-1 start. The Bearkats open the tournament against Airline Thursday at 8 at Bossier.
Bossier plays Caddo Magnet at 7:15 Friday and North DeSoto at 10:15 a.m. and Rapides at 4:45 Saturday.
Airline plays Northwood at 9 a.m. and Evangel at 3:15 Saturday.
The Vikings are off to a 2-0 start with victories over Parkway 4-1 and Evangel 4-0.
Max Tinkis, Junior Funez, Dylan Johnson and Oscar Pacheco scored goals against Parkway. Funez, Johnson, Alan Breton and James Mickelsen had one assist apiece. Matthew Posey had seven saves.
Funez had two goals and one assist against Evangel. Johnson had one goal and one assist. Bacilio Pacheco scored a goal. Breton had two assists. Posey had four saves.
Parkway plays Byrd at 4:30 Thursday at Bossier, Northwood at 8:30 Friday and D’Arbonne Woods at 6 Saturday.
Haughton plays Northwood at 5:45 Friday, and Leesville at 11:30 a.m. and Calvary Baptist at 4:45 Saturday.
The Bossier girls play Calvary Baptist at 6:50Thursday at Bossier, Evangel Christian at 4:30 Friday and Sam Houston at 3:15 Saturday.
Parkway plays Minden at 4:30 Friday and Calvary Baptist at 9 a.m. and Evangel at 12:45 Saturday.
Haughton plays Leesville at 4:30 Thursday, Caddo Magnet at 5:45 Friday and Evangel at 4:45 Saturday.
