High school soccer: Eight parish teams make playoffs

Eight parish teams — four boys and four girls — have qualified for the LHSAA playoffs.

The Haughton and Bossier boys and Parkway girls will be at home in the first round.

District 1 champion Haughton (12-5-3), the No. 12 seed, hosts No. 21 AJ Ellender (8-9-4) in Division II.

District 1 champion Bossier (15-3-1), the No. 4 seed, hosts No. 29 Port Allen (5-11-1) in Division III on Thursday at 5 p.m. Bossier was the state runner-up last season.

Parkway (13-7-2), the No. 9 seed, hosts No. 24 Liberty (6-12-2) in Division II.

The rest of the parish teams are on the road.

In Division I boys, No. 26 Benton (10-11-7) is at  No. 7 Baton Rouge (17-2-1) on Friday at 5:30.

in Division II boys, No. 30 Parkway (3-12-3) visits Ben Franklin (12-5-2) on Thursday at 4.

In Division I girls, No. 17 Benton (12-8-3) is at No. 16 Fontainebleau (12-7-0) on Thursday at 5. 

No. 29 Airline (8-11) visits No. 4 St. Scholastica (16-2-5).

In Division III girls, No. 24 Bossier (7-11-1) is at No. 9 Vandebilt Catholic (9-8-5) on Friday at 5.
