The Parkway Lady Panthers opened their season with a 7-0 victory over North Caddo Wednesday night in the annual Cranberry Classic tournament hosted by Haughton.
Emma Albarado led Parkway with three goals.
Sofia Bright had two goals and one assist. Bella Schoenborn scored two goals.
Maggie Schoenborn had three assists. Kenadee Honaker, Mackynzie Franklin and Natalie Hernandez all had one assist.
The Cranberry Classic resumes Thursday with three matches. Haughton plays Bossier at 3 p.m. followed by Airline vs. Evangel Christian at 6:15 and Northwood vs. Bossier at 7:30.
The tournament concludes Saturday. Here is the schedule: Haughton vs. Evangel at 9 a.m., Bossier vs. North Caddo at 10:20, Evangel vs. Parkway at 11:40, Airline vs. Parkway at 1 p.m., Haughton vs. Northwood at 2:20 and Airline vs. Northwood at 3:40.
All matches will be played at Harold E. Harlan Stadium on the stadium’s new artificial turf field.
In a girls match Tuesday night, Providence Classical Academy improved to 2-0 with a 6-3 victory over Evangel Christian. The Lady Knights hosts North Caddo Thursday.
In a girls match Monday, Airline improved to 2-0 with a 3-2 victory over Ouachita Parish.
In a boys match Tuesday, Parkway and Benton played to a 1-1 tie.
Parkway (1-2-1) hosts Ruston Thursday. Benton is 2-2-1.
Also Tuesday, the PCA boys opened their first season in the LHSAA with a 3-2 victory over Evangel Christian. The Knights host North Caddo Thursday.
The Haughton boys fell to North DeSoto 4-1. Jacob Wood scored the Bucs’ goal on an assist from Easton Osbon.
Haughton (1-3) hosts Ouachita Parish Monday.
