High school soccer season begins Monday night

The 2015-16 high school soccer season starts tonight at Tinsley Park.

In 6 o’clock girls’ games, Airline faces Parkway, Bossier takes on Northwood and Haughton plays Minden.

In boys’ games, Bossier plays Benton at 6 and Haughton takes on Minden at 7:45.

The local soccer districts have new looks this season. In past seasons, the Parkway-Airline game would’ve been a District 1, Division I game but not now.

Parkway, Haughton and Captain Shreve have dropped from Division I to Division II. Those three are in a five-team District 1 with Benton and Northwood.

Airline is the lone remaining Bossier Parish school in District 1, Division I. Other members are Byrd, Caddo Magnet, Natchitoches Central, Pineville, Southwood and West Monroe.

Bossier remains in District 1, Division III. Other teams in the district are Bastrop, Loyola, Minden, North DeSoto and Union Parish.
