Airline and Benton won tournament games Friday.
The Lady Vikings defeated Sulphur 9-8 in eight innings in the Sulphur tournament. The Lady Tigers defeated Jena 8-4 in the Calvary Baptist tournament.
Haughton fell to Iowa 11-3 in the Sulphur tournament.
Airline’s Kemora Guidry went 4-for-5. Ryan Hutchinson went 3-for-5 with a double and three RBI.
Haley Whiteside had a home run, double and two RBI. Emily Rachal had two hits and two RBI.
Rachal allowed just one hit and with six strikeouts and no walks in four innings of relief.
The Lady Vikings tied the game at 7 with two runs in the top of the seventh. Hutchinson led off with a double and scored on a single by Rachal. Whiteside tied it with a two-out RBI double.
Airline (11-3) took the lead in the top of the eighth. Guidry was placed on second. She scored on a single by Rachal with two outs.
Benton’s Lainey Lafitte went 2-for-4 with a home run, double and three RBI. Ashley Promes hit a two-run home run. Maggie Landman drew two walks.
Olivia Livers had a triple. Emma Holmes had a double.
Bayleigh Moniz went 6 1/3 innings. She struck out seven and walked one.
Benton improved to 15-2.
Six Haughton players had hits against Iowa. Brianna Benecke, Reese Mayfield and Saylor White all had doubles.
Haughton (9-10) plays Destrehan at 3 and Southside at 5 Saturday.
