The Benton Lady Tigers, Airline Lady Vikings and Haughton Lady Bucs won District 1-5A games Tuesday.
Benton defeated Byrd 17-8 at Byrd, Airline got past Evangel Christian 5-2 at Evangel and Haughton downed Parkway 15-0 at Haughton.
Benton (19-4, 6-0) leads the district. Airline (14-8, 4-1) and Haughton (14-12, 5-1) are tied for second in the loss column.
At Byrd, Emma Holmes went 4-for-4 with a double and two RBI. Olivia Livers went 3-for-4 with a triple, double and three RBI.
Maggie Landman went 3-for-5. Dylan Defee had two hits, including a triple, and two RBI. Emersyn Disotell had two hits, including a double, and two RBI.
Bayleigh Moniz hit a home run. Lainey Lafitte had a double and two RBI.
Benton is scheduled to host Captain Shreve Tuesday at 6.
At Evangel, the Lady Vikings broke open a scoreless tie with four runs in the top of the fifth.
Ainsley Jones, Lindsey Marcinkus, Haley Whiteside and Tatianna Frese had singles. Ryan Hutchinson brought home a run with a sacrifice fly. Aleena Duran drew a bases-loaded walk.
Seven Airline players combined for 10 hits in the game. Madalynn Shortridge, Marcinkus and Frese had two apiece. Marcinkus and Shortridge both had doubles. Marcinkus also drew a pair of walks.
Pitcher Taylor Smith had a double. She scattered five hits, struck out nine and walked two.
Airline is scheduled to host Byrd Thursday.
At Haughton, the Lady Bucs smacked five home runs and seven players combined for 12 hits in the four-inning game.
Brianna Benecke went 3-for-3 with a double and three RBI. Charlee Prothro and pitcher Dixie Williams both hit two home runs. Prothro had five RBI and Williams three.
Presley Yerby went 2-for-3. Her three-run home run in the bottom of the fourth ended the game. Carsyn Kizzia had a double.
Haughton is scheduled to visit Natchitoches Central Thursday.
Parkway’s Zoey Horn had a double. The Lady Panthers (7-9) are scheduled to host Evangel Thursday.
