The Benton Lady Tigers shut out the Loyola College Prep Lady Flyers 7-0 in a non-district softball game Friday at Loyola’s field.
Elsewhere, the Haughton Lady Bucs dropped a non-district game at Natchitoches Central, 6-4.
Bossier split a District 1-4A doubleheader at Woodlawn, winning the first game 15-5 and losing the second 15-13.
Benton pounded out 17 hits against Loyola. Taylor Jones went 4-for-4 with three doubles and two RBI.
Makenzie Chaffin went 3-for-4 with two RBI. Abby Kent also went 3-for-4.
Hallie Saintignan smacked two triples. Macey Bridges went 2-for-3 with a double. Brittany Ulmer had two hits. Anna Claire Kratzer had a double.
Sarah Koeppen pitched a five-hitter and struck out six.
Benton (7-11) resumes District 1-4A play Thursday at Northwood.
Savannah Salley and Leah Hopson hit home runs in Haughton’s loss. Salley went 2-for-4 with two RBI. Hopson went 2-for-3. Sidney Arnold also had two hits.
Haughton (10-11) resumes District 1-5A play Thursday against Airline at Haughton.
Airline (13-5, 6-0) has a big District 1-5A home game Tuesday against Evangel Christian (13-4, 4-1) on Tuesday. The Lady Vikings won the first district meeting between the two 2-1 on Feb. 23 at Evangel.
Parkway (8-8, 2-4) visits Southwood (10-7, 0-4) in a District 1-5A game. The Lady Panthers won the first district game between the two 4-0 on Feb. 23.
At Woodlawn, Skylar Whittingon was the winning pitcher in Bossier’s Game 1 victory. Deanna Jennings and Amaya Conway had hits. Jacee Harris had a hit in Game 2.
