Benton rising sophomore Bayleigh Moniz has been named to the Louisiana Sports Writers Association Class 5A All-State team.
Moniz, one of four pitchers named to the team, was 23-5. She had a 1.78 ERA with 176 strikeouts in 156 innings and just 30 walks.
She also batted .345 with nine home runs.
Moniz helped the Lady Tigers go 27-6, win the District 1-5A championship and advance to the non-select Division I quarterfinals. She was named the District 1-5A MVP.
Benton outfielders Dylan Defee and Emersyn Disotell and infielder Ashley Promes, Haughton catcher Brianna Benecke and infielder/pitcher Charlee Prothro, and Parkway shortstop Dakota Howard were named honorable mention.
Defee batted .412 and stole 36 bases in 36 attempts. Promes batted .427 with five home runs and 36 RBI. Disotell batted .407 with seven home runs and 36 RBI.
Defee, Promes and Disotell are all 2025 graduates. Defee was the District 1-5A Offensive MVP.
Benecke, a rising junior, was the District 1-5A Defensive MVP. She batted .500 with seven home runs and 35 RBI.
Prothro, a rising junior, batted .358 with six home runs and 36 RBI.
Howard, a 2025 graduate, batted .535 with an on-base percentage of .600 and a slugging percentage of .860.
