The Haughton Lady Bucs picked up their first victory Friday, defeating Many 1-0 in the North DeSoto tournament.
Also at North DeSoto, Benton fell to 2024 non-select Division II runner-up North DeSoto 4-1.
In a non-tournament game, Airline defeated Texas High 13-9 at Airline.
Haughton’s Charlee Prothro pitched a one-hitter. She struck out three and walked two.
Brianna Benecke went 2-for-3.
Haughton scored its run in the bottom of the first. Carsyn Kizzia led off with a single and moved to second on Kylie Small’s sacrifice bunt. Benecke then m brought home Kizzia with a single.
Haughton (1-4) plays Logansport at 10 a.m. and North DeSoto at 2 p.m. Saturday.
Benton trailed North DeSoto just 2-1 through four innings. The Lady Griffins added two more in the bottom of the fifth.

Benton (2-1) continues play at North DeSoto Saturday. The Lady Tigers face Many at noon and Logansport at 4.
At Airline, Lindsey Marcinkus went 2-for-3. Ryan Hutchinson went 2-for-4 with four RBI. Emily Rachal hit a two-run home run in the first inning.
Aleena Duran went five innings for the win. She had eight strikeouts. Rachal allowed two hits, struck out six and walked one in two innings.
Airline (5-1) visits West Ouachita Monday.
