After two one-run losses in as many days, the Haughton Lady Bucs took some of their frustration out on Byrd Thursday, defeating the Lady Jackets 15-0 in a District 1-5A game at Byrd.
Haughton improved to 12-6 overall and 7-1 in district. The Lady Bucs are in second behind Airline (19-3, 9-0) with four district games left.
Elsewhere, the Benton Lady Tigers swept Bossier 15-0 and 17-2 in a District 1-4A doubleheader at Rusheon.
Benton improved to 15-11 overall and 12-3 in district.
At Byrd, Haughton put nine on the board in the top of the sixth inning to reach 15 runs.
The Lady Bucs had eight hits in the inning. Reagan Jorstad, Madison Trujillo, Brooklynn Bockhaus and Briley Leblanc all had doubles. McKayla Burkart had two singles. Averi Phillips and Reanna Crumpler each had one single.
Bockhaus led the Lady Bucs at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two doubles and three RBI. Phillips went 2-for-3 with two RBI. Leblanc had two hits and two RBI.
Burkart drove in three runs. Madison Trujillo had a double.
Shelby Hensley allowed five hits and struck out 10.
Haughton hosts West Monroe (12-8) Friday at 5:30 in a non-district game, weather permitting.
