High school softball: Parish teams have tough day at tournaments

Friday wasn’t a good day for parish teams competing in tournaments.

The Airline Lady Vikings and Benton Lady Tigers suffered their first losses.

Airline fell to West Ouachita 17-3 in the Sterlington tournament, and Benton lost to Buckeye 11-1 in the North DeSoto tournament.

Parkway opened its season with a 15-0 loss to Buckeye. The Lady Panthers are without top players Chloe Larry and Mikaylah Williams, who are still playing basketball.

Haughton suffered a tough 8-7 loss to Grant in the Sterlington tournament.

Paris Endris went 2-for-3 with a home run for Airline (3-1). Jina Baffuto also hit a home run. 

Paige Marshall went 2-for-3 with a double.

Sophia Livers went 2-for-3 for Benton (3-1). Christina Gegg had a double.

Haughton dropped to 1-4.
