High school softball week in review

Last week was a good one for parish softball teams as Parkway, Haughton, Benton and Airline picked up a combined 10 wins.
Here is a look at how parish teams fared.

Parkway: The Lady Panthers went 4-0, including a big 5-4 District 1-5A victory against a Captain Shreve. Parway also got tournament wins over Stankey 11-0, ASH 4-3 and Choudrant 7-4.
The Lady Panthers rallied from a 4-0 deficit against Shreve, scoring the go-ahead run in the top of the sixth on Alexis Rayborn’s two-out single.
Kaytlyn Guerrero went 4-for-4, and Mary Kate Bozeman had three hits. Rayborn had two hits and two RBI. Rebecca Lynch also had two hits. Kendall Lewis had a three-RBI double. Lindsey Hutcheson also doubled.
Samantha Guile struck out 14 and allowed five hits.
Allie Hunt pitched a three-hitter and struck out seven in the five-inning win over Stanley.
Rayborn went 3-for-3 with a home run, double and three RBI. Lynch also had three hits. Bozeman had a double.
Rayborn’s grand slam home run in the first inning gave the Lady Panthers all the runs they needed in the win over ASH. Bozeman had two hits. Guile scattered seven hits and had seven strikeouts.

Benton: The Lady Tigers won 2-of-3 in the Ouachita tournament, defeating Bastrop 5-4 and Caldwell 8-3 and falling to West Ouachita 14-11.
Abi Cole scored the winning run against Bastrop in the bottom of the seventh on Mackenzie McEntee’s double. Chelsea Rangel, who had a double in the game, scored the tying run on an error earlier in the inning.
Cole had two RBI. Sarah Koeppen scattered eight hits and struck,out four.
Rangel went 2-for-4 with a double and two RBI against Caldwell. Cole also had a double. Koeppen pitched 5 1/3 innings for the win.
Cole had two hits and Mackenzie Stewart had three RBI in the loss to West Ouachita.

Haughton: The Lady Bucs picked up two wins in the Ouachita tournament, knocking off Neville 12-2 and Mangham 7-4.
Lacey Dodson, Leah Hopson and Savannah Salley all had three hits against Neville. Lauren Edwards and Anna Dies had two each. Dodson had a triple while Edwards and Hopson both doubled. Salley, Hopson and Edwards had two RBI apiece.
Ashley Smith scattered six hits for the win.
Dodson, Salley, Natalie Smith, Savannah O’Neal and Keeleigh Bennett all had two hits against Mangham. Dies had a triple. Smith and Bennett doubled.
Six Lady Panthers had hits against Choudrant with Hutcheson getting two.
Airline:The Lady Vikings picked up the first two wins for new coach Roo Richardson-Johnson in the Ouachita tournament, defeating Loyola 12-1 and Oak Grove 14-7.

Airline also lost to Neville 13-1.
Kaitlyn Walker went 2-for-2 with a double and two RBI against Loyola. Hannah Brooks also had two hits.
Brittany Nelson had a double. Katie Briggs got the win.
Nelson hit a three-run homer against Oak Grove. Kaylee Adams went 3-for-4 with two RBI. Brooks had two hits. Walker had a two-RBI double.
