High school track and field: Bossier’s Godfrey fourth in 100 in 4A girls state meet

Bossier junior Kaylyn Godfrey finished fourth in the 100 meters in the Class 4A girls division at the LHSAA Outdoor Track and Field State Meet Saturday at LSU.

Godfrey’s time was 12.26 seconds. West Felciana’s Tristen Harris won in 11.55.

The top three finishers made the awards stand. Godfrey came close, finishing just 13-hundredths of a second behind third-place finisher Brooklyn Perkins of The Willow School.

Sophomore Quinton Hodge was fifth in the boys 800 in 2:02.75. Leesville’s Keeton Johnson won in 1:55.52.

Sophomore Zamarion Carter finished eighth in the girls triple jump and 300 hurdles and ninth in the 100 hurdles.

She went 32-7 in the triple jump. West Feliciana’s Diamond Peck won with a 37-6. Carter ran a 47.89 in the 300 hurdles. Broadmoor’s Taylor Hankton won in 42.64.

The foursome of J’Diya Morris, Unique Marston, A’Zerriana Jones and Godfrey was ninth in the 4X100 relay in 53.59.
