Haughton’s Josh Lister and Parkway’s Adrianna Wilder won their respective events in the Allstate Sugar Bowl/LHSAA Indoor Track and Field State Meet on Saturday at LSU.
Lister won the Division I boys 60-meter dash in 6.84 seconds. Jandon Briscoe of New Orleans Jesuit was second in 7.04.
Earlier in the day, Lister tied the Division I record with a 6.83 in the preliminaries. It was a measure of redemption for Lister, who was the favorite in the Class 5A 100 at the state outdoor meet last spring but was disqualified because of a false start.
Wilder won the Division I girls 3,200 run in 11:41.06. She finished about 14 seconds ahead of runner-up Emily Blanchard of Hahnville.
Benton’s Taylor Davis and Parkway’s Cole Billiot finished as state runners-up.
Davis, a sophomore, was second in the Division I girls high jump with a leap of 5 feet, 4 inches. Abigail O’Donoghue of Denham Springs won with a composite and field house record of 5-9.5.
Billiot was second in the Division I boys 3,200 in 9:51.57. He finished about five seconds behind Hunter Appleton of New Orleans Brother Martin.
Benton’s KeKe West finished third in the Division I girls triple jump with a 36-2.25. Helena Tibbs of Beau Chene won with a 36-6.75.
The Haughton foursome of Emile Cola, Lavonta Gipson, Lister and Kynan Haves finished fourth in the Division I boys 4X200 relay in 1:33.49. River Ridge John Curtis won in 1:30.59.
The Airline foursome of Seth Papineau, Will Dart, Joshua Burns and Taejon Morris was fourth in the Division I boys 4X800 relay in 8:22.38. Covington St. Paul’s won in 8:16.70.
