High school track and field: Perry shines in Plain Dealing meet; Bossier girls runner-up

Bossier finished runner-up in the girls division in the Plain Dealing track and field meet last Friday.

The Lady Kats scored 100 points. Loyola College Prep won with 150. Woodlawn won the boys division with 128 points. Arcadia was second with 76, Booker T. Washington third with 75 and Bossier fourth with 63.

Plain Dealing junior Teunna Perry was a triple winner in the girls division. She won the long jump with a leap of 18 feet, 3.5 inches, the high jump with a 4-8 and the triple jump with a 36-5.

Perry won all three events in the Class 1A state meet last season. Her long jump was the best in the parish this season.

Bossier’s Alashia Davis swept the hurdles, taking the 100 in 19.9 and the 300 in 55.0.

Three Bossier athletes finished runner-up in individual events — Navia Johnson (shot put, 34-7), Kelcee Marshall (high jump, 4-6.10) and Rebecca Washington (200).

Plain Dealing’s Dabrika White finished second in the 100 in 12.4.

Bossier won the 4X200 relay in boys division in 1:33.67.

Bossier’s Kalaas Roots finished second in the 1,600 (5:04.3) and 3,200 (11:21.6).

Decamerion Richardson (high jump) and Kalan Green (800) also posted runner-up finishes.

Plain Dealing’s Jaylon Lucas was second in the triple jump.
