High school volleyball: Airline, Parkway pick up victories

The Airline Lady Vikings got the week off to a good start with volleyball victories Monday and Tuesday. The Parkway Lady Panthers picked up a win on Tuesday.

Monday, Airline defeated Leesville 25-13, 25-12 and 25-16 in a non-district home game. Tuesday, the Lady Vikings downed Captain Shreve 25-10, 25-10 and 25-16 in a District 1-I game.

The Haughton Lady Bucs suffered their first District 1-I loss in four sets at Northwood. The teams split the first two sets. Haughton won the first 25-10 and Northwood won the second 28-26. The third set was also close with the Lady Falcons pulling out a 25-23 victory. Northwood closed out the match with a 25-20 fourth-set win.

Haughton also lost to Natchitoches Central in five sets in a non-district home game Monday. 25-15, 23-25, 25-15, 19-25, 14-16. Haughton (11-11, 3-1) visits Parkway in a non-district game Wednesday.

Parkway defeated Huntington 25-10, 25-19, 25-14 in a non-district game at Parkway.

Airline’s Kaylea Noble had nine aces, eight kils, three blocks and three digs in the win over Leesville. Gabby Patronis had nine aces, two kills and 12 digs. Zahria Lloyd had one ace, 16 assists and three digs.

Noble had seven aces, 11 kills, two blocks and one assist in the win over Shreve. Lloyd had two aces, one kill, 24 assists and four digs. Brooklyn Brandon had five aces, six kills, one block and three digs.

Airline (14-10, 4-1) plays Caddo Magnet in a non-district game Thursday at 6:30 p.m.
