High school wrestling: Parkway wins Big Cat Brawl

Parkway won the Big Cat Brawl tournament hosted by the Panthers on Saturday.

Parkway scored 282 points. Byrd finished second with 181 and Airline third with 138.5. Nine teams posted scores.

Parkway’s individual winners were David Viers (106 pounds), Joshua Keeler (120), Jordan Clark (126), Brandon Turner (132), Jacob Chittom (160), Kaleb Garcia (182) and Peyton Miller (220).

Airline’s Joshua Franklin (145) was the only other champion from a Bossier Parish school.

Byrd had five winners — Demetrie Teddlie (138), Jacob Yawn (152), Logan Lewis (170), Bailee Creasley (195) and Bobby R. Simpson (285).

Patrick Durias of Houston Strake Jesuit won the 113-pound class.

Parkway’s runners-up were Garrette Larsen (113), Andrew Tamburo (138), Hayden Wood (145), Terrence Murray (170) and Dezrel Eloph (285).

Other runners-up from parish schools were Airline’s Mason Lambright (132), Airline’s Michael Salinas (182), Haughton’s Justin Nixon (195) and Airline’s Christian Carradine (220).

Third-place finishers from parish schools were Parkway’s Christopher Strong (106), Parkway’s Mason Barnhill (113), Airline’s Memphis Brace (120), Airline’s Tanner Almond (126), Airline’s Caden Cockrell (138), Parkway’s Jonathan Weissbach (145), Parkway’s Brendon Earnest (152), Haughton’s Kameron Smith (160), Parkway’s Steven Driggers (170), Parkway’s Jaden Jones (195), Benton’s Preston Fisher (220) and Benton’s Ezekial Tarin (285).
