Hiroko M. “Marian” Pharr

BOSSIER CITY – Services for Mrs. Hiroko M. “Marian” Pharr, 78, will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, November 2, 2013, at Hill Crest Memorial Funeral Home, Haughton, LA. Pastors Sam Moses and Wayne Whatley of Living Word Family Church will officiate. Interment will follow in Hill Crest Memorial Park. Visitation will be held on Friday evening between the hours of 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home.

Hiroko was born on May 2, 1935, in Maui, Hawaii to parents Shosuke and Shizuyo Mitsumura and passed away on Tuesday afternoon, October 29, 2013. She was employed and retired from the Bossier Parish School Board working in the food service department at Green Acres Middle School for more than 13 years. Hiroko was also a member of the Bossier Medical Center Women’s Guild “Pink Ladies” and a member of Living Word Family Church.

Hiroko is survived by her husband of 57 years, Othell Pharr; daughters, Mariette Shuler and husband Eric, Carolyn Christian, Barbara Gandy and husband Gene; sister, Masayo Kimura; brother, Yoshiyuku Mitsumura; grandchildren, Ryan Shuler and wife Cassandra, Shawn Barnes and wife Mechelle, Jared Christian, Krista, Kelly and Kelsie Gandy; three great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents and thirteen siblings.
