A suspect wanted in connection with this week’s armed robbery at the Rodeway Inn and Suites is in custody.

Members of the United States Marshal’s Violent Offenders Task Force today arrested 35-year old Lamar Jose Sheppard of Shreveport at his residence after detectives with BCPD’s Violent Crimes Unit obtained a warrant for his arrest.

Sheppard is charged with armed robbery with use of a firearm for holding up the Rodeway Inn and Suites in the 3000 block of Hilton Drive on Monday night. He was booked into the Caddo Correctional Center and is awaiting transfer to Bossier City.  Bossier City detectives linked Sheppard to the armed robbery based on evidence obtained in the course of their investigation.

Police continue to search for a second as of yet unidentified suspect in the case. He’s described as a slender black male, 5’8”-5’10” tall and was wearing blue jeans, a black and red jacket and white tennis shoes at the time of the robbery.

Anyone who can provide information that leads to the arrest of that suspect is asked to contact Bossier City Stoppers at (318) 424-4100.  They can also submit a web tip via the Bossier Crime Stoppers website bossiercrimestoppers.org. Persons who contact Crime Stoppers are reminded they may remain totally anonymous and could be eligible for a cash reward.
