The Housing Authority of the City of Shreveport (HACS), with
support from the Choice Neighborhoods Grant and in partnership with community
stakeholders, celebrated the groundbreaking of Bayou Grande IV, a new affordable
housing community that will provide 70 apartments for seniors ages 55 and older.
The new development represents HACS’s continued commitment to expanding quality,
affordable housing opportunities while investing in neighborhoods and improving quality
of life for local residents. Once completed, Bayou Grande IV will feature a three-story
elevated apartment building with 70 subsidized units supported by Project-Based
Vouchers (PBVs), including 56 one-bedroom apartments and 14 two-bedroom
apartments for seniors with incomes at or below 60 percent of the Area Median Income
(AMI).
Construction is expected to take approximately 15 months, with the development built
to National Green Build standards, providing energy-efficient and environmentally
responsible housing for future residents.

reflects our commitment to providing safe, quality affordable housing where seniors can
enjoy a safe, supportive community surrounded by the neighbors and resources they
value.”
Residents of Bayou Grande IV will enjoy a wide range of on-site amenities designed to
support health, wellness, and community engagement. The property will include a
clubhouse and community space, quiet lounge, fitness center, business center, wireless
internet access within the community building, mail center, and outdoor gathering areas.
The development is part of HACS’s broader mission to provide affordable housing
solutions and create vibrant communities that enhance the lives of residents throughout
Shreveport.
