Bossier Schools rolled out the welcome mat for families that serve at the 3rd Annual Military Families Back-to-School Night at the Bossier Civic Center on Tuesday, July 30, 2024.

Every school in Bossier Parish was represented, with multiple school groups and performances.

Community partners and organizations with a military focus were also on hand to provide information.

Bossier City Chamber President and CEO Lisa Johnson said, “The Bossier Chamber has long had a commitment to our military members and their families. The Chamber was instrumental in helping the school district start up the Military Student Transition position within Bossier Schools because we knew it was important for the families coming into our region to have resources that help them with their specific needs.”

“The Chamber remains committed—through our Military Relations Committee and Northwest Louisiana Military Support Foundation—to helping all military-connected individuals live, work, play, and learn in Bossier Parish.”

“Sometimes the transition to a new school can be difficult, but through events like the Military Back-to-School Night, we work to welcome our esteemed military families with open arms into our community,” she concluded.

This event enabled Bossier Schools to honor our military families and gave them the opportunity to meet and greet their children’s principals and learn more about the schools they will be attending.
