Huntington Park pro Adams wins Gulf States Senior PGA tournament


Huntington Park pro Reg Adams won the Gulf States Senior PGA Professional golf tournament last week at Shell Landing Golf Club in Biloxi, Miss.

Adams will lead four Section PGA Professionals to compete Oct. 15-18 in the 27th Senior PGA National Championship at Bayonet Black Horse in Seaside, Calif.

Adams turned in a winning total of 2-under-par 142. Scott Buntin of Starkville, Miss., finished five strokes back at 147. Craig Campo and Reed Hughes finished in third place at 4-over par 148.

The Senior PGA Professional National Championship brings together a field of 264 contestants representing The PGA of America’s 41 nationwide Sections and features a total purse of $285,000. The first two rounds will be conducted on the Bayonet and Black Horse Courses. The Bayonet Course will host the Championship’s final 36 holes.
