The victim of a hit and run on I-20 in Bossier City has been identified.
Bossier City Police responded to a call on June 7, 2015 at 2:20 a.m. of a white male lying on US I-20 West near Airline Dr. The victim, who was lying in the roadway, had apparently been struck by a vehicle that had left the scene.
The victim has been identified as 32 year old, Loren Laird Burris, of San Marcos, TX. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Burris was staying at a hotel adjacent from where he was struck on I-20. Investigators have learned that Burris had a history of mental illness and believed that he walked out onto the interstate.
Witness statements say that Burris was lying in the middle of the roadway. The investigation is ongoing at this time.
