BARKSDALE AIR FORCE BASE, La. – Global Thunder 22 is underway. As in previous years, Global Thunder 22 will include an increase in bomber aircraft flights throughout the exercise, including multiple sortie generations in short windows of time. Our local communities may notice heavier than normal bomber take offs throughout the duration of the exercise.

Global Thunder 22, in support of U.S. Strategic Command, provides training opportunities to enhance readiness and ensure a safe, secure, ready and reliable strategic deterrent force with a specific focus on nuclear readiness.
