Information for new Bossier Schools students

Bossier Parish Schools are offering parents of new students some helpful information for the 2013-14 school year

Transfer students needing tested for grade placement should call Pam Chapman in the Curriculum department to schedule a time to visit. Mrs. Chapman can be reached at (318) 549-6177.

New student pre-registration for Grades 6-12 is from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. July 29 to Aug. 7. Grades 1-5 is from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. July 29 to August 2 and Kindergarten students who did not pre-register on April 18 can register from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. August 1 and August 2. Kindergarten screening is August 8-9, and Aug. 12-14. Kindergarten registrants must be five years of age on or before Sept. 30.

So what should new students bring with them? Each child, Kindergarten students included, must have a certified birth certificate, an up to date Louisiana health card, a Social Security card and proof of residence. New students in grades 1-12 must bring previous school records.

The first of school for students in grades 1-12 is Thursday, Aug. 8. The first regular day for all Kindergarten students is Thursday, Aug. 15.
