HAUGHTON – Services for James W. Ramsey will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 19, 2013 at First Baptist Church Haughton with Pastor Gevin Spinney officiating. Interment will follow at Hill Crest Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the church at 12:00 p.m. prior to the service.
James was born July 22, 1935 in Longview, TX to James I. and Annie Lee Ramsey. They moved to Haughton shortly thereafter where he remained a permanent resident. He attended LA Tech and graduated with a degree in mechanical engineering and began a lifelong career as Bossier Parish Administrator. James was on the Board of Directors at Citizens National Bank and attended Sunday school at First Baptist Church Haughton.
James was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Gloria F. Ramsey. He is survived by his daughter Sharon R. Newsom, son James F. Ramsey and wife Shannon, grandchildren Laura Barnes, Sarah Ramsey, Zachary Ramsey, sisters Faye Thomas, Kaye Patterson and husband Stacy as well as numerous nieces, nephews and loved ones.
