BOSSIER CITY – A Mass celebrating the life of Janice Midkiff Haynie, 51, will be 2 p.m. Monday, April 28, 2014 at St. Jude Catholic Church. Officiating will be Rev. Pike Thomas. Interment will follow at Forest Park Cemetery on St. Vincent Ave in Shreveport, LA. Visitation will be Sunday, April 27, 2014 from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m., with a vigil to follow, at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Bossier City.

Janice was born November 8, 1962 in Shreveport to Kelly Pierce Midkiff and Mable Owens Midkiff and passed away April 25, 2014 in Shreveport from a short, but courageous battle with cancer. She was a dental assistant for 20 years. She was a volunteer with St. Jude Super Saturday Meals on Wheels. Janice loved the outdoors, enjoyed fishing and camping with her son and had a special love for dogs.

She is preceded in death by her father, maternal and paternal grandparents and numerous aunts and uncles.

Janice is survived by her mother, Mable Owens Midkiff of Bossier City; son, Samuel Wesley Haynie and wife Amber Dawn of Shreveport; ex husband, Rickey Allen Haynie of Shreveport; sisters, Sharon McGee and husband James of Florien, LA, Kay Murphy and husband Pat of Bossier City; aunt, Evelyn McNeill of Blanchard; uncles, Charles Ellers and wife Barbara of Bossier City, Gene Owens of Shreveport; fiance, Maverine Autry of Shreveport; nephews, Patrick Murphy III, Chad McGee; niece, Emily McGee; five great nieces and nephews and numerous cousins.

Honoring Janice as pallbearers will be Samuel Haynie, James McGee, Chad McGee, Pat Murphy, Patrick Murphy III, Chuck Ellers and Dave Copia.

The family would like to give a special thank you to the staffs of Garden Court Rehab and Grace Home.
