Jeannine Jones

BOSSIER CITY – Mrs. Jeannine Jones passed away on February 19, 2014, following complications due to a recent stroke. A brief ceremony will be held for family and friends to celebrate the life of Jeannine Jones and the memories and love she left behind. Please contact family members for details.

Mrs. Jones, or Mammaw, as she was called by most who knew her, was born in Piedmont, Missouri, where she grew up with her parents and brother Joseph Holmes. She later moved to Bossier City as a young adult where she resided for the remainder of her life. While working in Shreveport at PPG, she met the man who would become her husband of 54 years, Don Jones. Mammaw enjoyed playing games with her family, reading and watching detective stories, bowling, cross stitching, visiting the beach, baking the best holiday desserts, creating magical Christmas cityscapes with her miniature, lighted houses, spoiling her grandchildren, and, if possible, spoiling her beloved Yorkies even more. She was always there when anyone needed help, and for that, we know she will be missed, but never forgotten.

She is survived by her husband, Don Jones; her daughter Sharon and husband Kevin Smith of Blanchard; three grandchildren, Jeannine Hahn of Blanchard, Matthew Hahn and wife, Lori of Bossier City, and Lucas Hahn of Baton Rouge; and five great-grandchildren, Meredith, Gwendolyn, Emma, Amelia, and the soon to arrive, Christian.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers those who remember Mammaw celebrate her by doing what she loved most, which was spending time with their family and friends.
